I love hydrangeas. They always reminded me of my mother, because she wished so much that they would grow in Florida the way they did in Charleston, but would never stay alive in Florida’s brutal summers. In Atlanta, they grow very well. Now, they mostly remind me of weddings as they’re a particularly ubiquitous bouquet flower.
I can’t stop napping. It’s a disaster.
photo via buzz feed. These surfing dogs are so freaking cute. More pictures here.
Read by the pool all day. It was wonderful.
Turner Field. It was my first baseball game of the season. Stepping foot into a baseball stadium just makes my heart soar.
Big decisions are made in the cereal aisle, y’all. BIG.
Do you even go to a real school? from Chelsea Corarito on Vimeo. I have some mixed feelings about the school I went to. I don’t think I had a typical experience as compared to most other Novo Collegians, but I still appreciated the culture there, even if I wasn’t often a part of it. This neat video even makes me a little nostalgic, which I never really thought I’d say.
Things are a little weird between the cat and I right now. I’m tired of the incessant meowing and early morning wake-ups with biting and clawing. She might be feeling a little attention-deprived. It’s sort of a standoff, but things aren’t entirely unpleasant between us.
photo via lookbook.nu. Everyone on lookbook dot nu is so freakin’ creative and amazing. This chick is fifteen and she’s obviously at least a little bit genius. (I’m caving and adding a fashion tag, even though I know naught about it.)

Australia 2009 by John. Oh my goodness, y’all, I’m going to Australia! I’m so excited!

photos by feather love photography via style me pretty. This bride is such a fuckin rock star. Her reception dress is gorgeous, and she, like, ninety-eight percent pulls off crimped hair. (Plus, Adrian Grenier was at the wedding. Baller.) The ceremony was lovely, too. Check the gallery here. Their fun vows: Him: I vow to love you Her: I vow to love you Him: to be your best friend ever Her: to...

This is just perfect. I’m not a huge Kindle fan (I’m old school, what can I say?), but the commercial is darling.
photo via book lovers never go to bed alone. Neato frito. I love everything about this.
Gas stoves rule!
We went for a long walk, and my shoulders got sun-burnt.
Sometimes it’s just really nice to get in bed.
Went to my first official Yelp event. It was really fun!
i like your beard.
Okay, so this might bring out the haters, but I kinda love this song. Whatever. The best part? At the very end Ke$ha says, “I like your beard,” and she sounds genuine and not auto-tuned and like she’s really saying something to a real boy about something she really feels. And I think that’s nice. Especially when you have a crush of your own on a sometimes-bearded boy.
photo by jose villa via once wed. Pretty much perfect. Jose Villa is a god.
strunk and white
photo by iro-ivy via lanalou. There’s a lot to like about this; pretty books not in English, soft colors, a leaf tucked into a book… And when I saw what I’m pretty sure is Elements of Style, I was sold. Lovely lovely.
via le love. This would be equally nice to remind yourself or a sweetheart.
cat lesson no. three
Don’t psychoanalyze your relationship with the cat. Really, don’t. I’m in the throes of it and it’s awful.
Found this mug in the kitchen at work. I am in love.
photos via design*sponge. Ooooh. I feel like if I could sit in this home for a few hours I would feel happy and inspired and content and creative. How do people create such amazing spaces? (And yes, I recognize that I posted yesterday about how I don’t like the color pink and then proceeded to post two predominately-pink homes. Caprice, y’all. Check the rest here. They’re...
photo by aaron snow via the loveliest day. Mmmmhmmm, books and kisses. (And killer outfits.) Indeed.
photo via fuck yeah, puns! Because we could all use a reminder.
photo from cottage living via pure style home oooh.
photo via apartment therapy. Ooooh, it’s love. Filing this one in the back of my mind for when I one day, hopefully, maybe maybe, get to put together my dream kitchen. I wasn’t made for super-modern appliances anyway; this weekend, baking cookies, I was convinced that the oven was broken—turns out the settings were controlled by a touchscreen. Had me totally baffled. Self,...

photo via hooray. Yeah, this would be nice. A train, a boy, a map, no plan…. perfect.
Dresses and photos by mara hoffman. If someone gave me four-hundred dollars and said I absolutely had to spend it on something frivolous, it might well be this dress. Anything one shoulder absolutely kills me. For those with spendier inclinations, you can buy it here. (On a side note, kudos to shopbop for featuring a model with back. Nice to know how a dress will look one someone with a booty.) ...
photo via book lovers never go to bed alone. Wouldn’t this be the perfect place to steal a little kiss while browsing for books? In the poetry section, I mean, come on. Books and a smooch, together, might be just the greatest thing ever.
photo via babysaur. Babies kinda freak me out, but I lalalalaloooove sock monkeys, soooo.
photo by carla ten eyck via style me pretty. Why, hello, amazing dress. By Betsey Johnson, of course.
photo by kirsten voortman via design*sponge. Thank goodness for design*sponge, which not only features amazing design that this hapless girl could never hope to recreate, but often sneaks super cute doggies into photos too! Cutie cute cute. He’s in most every picture of this home, which is itself super amazing, with lots of hot pink! Check it here.
photo by procopio photography via the loveliest day. Hot dude playing a guitar. Always check for a ring before you write a love story in your head, y’all. This one’s taken, but a girl can dream.
dog in a bowtie
photo by amanda rae via style me pretty. Dog in a bowtie = perfect. Too flippin’ cute!!
Really gorgeous, dreamy photos of libraries in a great post over on the City Sage. Click click!
This is really bad and really good. Cats and I are in a weird place right now. I’m not sure yet whether things are going to work out between us. (Also! I just realized how cute the YouTube borders are! I’m not usually so crazy for things that are pink, but it goes pretty nicely with the video, I’d say.)
Mmm.. Threw together this easy-peasy tofu dish for dinner. Basically, I sauteed some tofu in a hot pan with a bit of olive oil and once it was cooked the way I like it, threw in a bit of peanut butter and some tamari, and stirred it around until they all combined. Served over rice with a generous dollop of sriracha. Ohh yeah.
photo via apartment therapy. Stacked houses in Amsterdam. Woahhh.
It’s so nice to snuggle up on the couch with a blanket and a book.
Mmm, cookies. I finally worked up the nerve to go to my first Yelp event, a cookie exchange. I made some almond pignoli cookies, which were yummy but looked like crap, so I put together a quick batch of chocolate chip and crystallized ginger cookies. Oh my goodness, y’all. Chocolate and ginger is one of my favorite flavor combinations and these were pretty great. (The almond pignoli cookies...
Popped into a massive and fun antique shop to look around. I thought this old cash register was so neat. I’ve spent a lot of time over the last several years behind new-fangled registers; I can’t even imagine keying things in on this puppy!
cat lesson no. two
Much like my dear sweet doggies, indoor-outdoor cats will wait at the door until you open it, and then promptly turn around and go back to playing.
