About

Girls in Portland are way too cool. I get the sense they dress with very specific themes in mind—Left Bank, Paris, early twentieth-century; Princess Diana, 1983; J. Crew Catalog F/W 1998. Anyway, it makes for fantastic people watching, and I wish I had a nice camera and the balls to start a street style blog, because I’m not sure there’s anywhere else where so many people wear such inventive and fantastic outfits.

This weekend, I saw a girl in a military-inspired jacket over with cute floral tights on. It’s the kind of coat I could never pull off (the look on me would be more Lindsay Weir than hip Portlandian), but I so love it. I think this outfit would be perfect for grabbing dinner with friends before taking a long fall walk.
